
The following is an interesting video that links to an interesting article: For Better or Worse? The Case for Gay (and Straight) Marriage. The article discusses the desperate homophobic argument that marriage is all about baby-making.
I repeatedly observe that, unless one could make a good case that equal rights are intrinsically a bad thing, there are absolutely no good arguments against legalizing gay marriage.
Because homophobes are aware that discrimination is frowned upon, they concoct a nauseating array of bad arguments to support their prejudiced viewpoint. Argumentum ad Reproductio (coined in deliberately bad Latin) is one of these.
Biblical scriptures provide the worst possible apology for homophobia. Unless bigots can prove (to use their favourite challenge) that there is a deity and that this deity purposely inspired the horrendously errant heap of bigotry that is called the Bible, they are making an unsupportable argument in quoting Bronze Age bigots.
